The aim of HDMC is to train and develop directional level officers of the Armed forces in concepts and techniques required to optimise operational effectiveness in the realm of higher defence management in war and peace.

• Enhance leadership potential and human skills through an understanding of contemporary leadership concepts, human behaviour and motivational process.
• Understand the process of organisational development and interventions through the application of management principles and innovative training concepts in the armed forces.
• Acquire a clear understanding of economic concepts and their application in the armed forces, especially in the areas of financial planning, budgeting and controlling leading to an efficient defence acquisition process.
